Problem:
The communications team at American Jewish World Service, recently established as an independent division, was overwhelmed with over 100 open projects and no way to manage their intake, internal workflow, review, or distribution processes. The team also spent a large amount of their time in meetings and responding to emails.
Solution:
- I reviewed the existing platforms available and implemented Basecamp for internal use.
- I set standardizing basic operating procedures to manage and track internal project workflow for the division.
- I also built and refined a custom web-based intake system using agile methodology and input from clients and internal team members that allowed the team to streamline the intake and processing of new projects.
Internal clients found the new system faster and easier to use, and all parties reduced time spent writing emails and in meetings.
